Attorney Young-Wook Lee holds both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Copyright Law, and is also a creator himself, having authored more than twenty books, including numerous legal comics. His own journey as a creator enables him to deeply understand and empathize with the legal challenges that creators face.

As a certified specialist in Intellectual Property Law by the Korean Bar Association, he has successfully handled numerous lawsuits and advisory cases involving copyright infringement and contract disputes. His academic expertise is also well recognized, as reflected in his contribution to the Commentary on the Copyright Law(revise version). In addition to litigation, he has extensive experience in resolving disputes through notices, negotiations, and alternative measures, saving clients both time and expense before formal legal proceedings.

Entertainment / Webtoons

Attorney Young-Wook Lee is a certified specialist in Entertainment Law by the Korean Bar Association. Over the years, he has represented and advised a wide range of industry players—including production companies, management agencies, publishers, authors, artists, entertainers, and publishing companies —on litigation and legal matters.
He also serves as a Director of the Korean Entertainment Law Association and has continuously provided dispute resolution and legal advisory services to numerous creators, artists, and related organizations through public institutions such as the Korea Artists Welfare Foundation and the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency.

Drawing on his own experience in planning and creating content, Attorney Lee possesses a uniquely practical perspective and a strong understanding of on-the-ground realities, setting him apart from many other legal practitioners.

Having created comics himself for many years and advised a wide range of authors and creative companies, he authored “Webtoon Contract Master” and, in 2024, participated in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s revision of the Standard Contract for Comics and Webtoons.

Attorney Young-Wook Lee is a expert who has handled numerous litigations and advisory matters in the fields of copyright law and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. He currently serves as a member of the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Committee for Electronic Document and Electronic Transaction Dispute Mediation, a mediator at the Korea Internet & Security Agency’s Online Advertising Dispute Mediation Committee, and a technical expert member of the Korea Copyright Commission’s Program Appraisal Committee, thereby bringing extensive practical experience.

With a strong professional network that includes program specialists and technical appraisers, he is well positioned for collaborative work.

Civil & Criminal Case

After completing two years of training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, Attorney Young-Wook Lee began practicing law in 2005. From his early years as an associate attorney to his current role as a partner, he has built extensive experience as a litigator, handling a wide range of civil and criminal cases. He is highly regarded for his diligence and meticulous case handling.
Through authoring multiple comic-style casebooks on civil law, criminal law, and criminal procedure, he has cultivated the habit of examining trial court decisions in detail, enabling him to accurately and comprehensively understand issues and disputes.

Attorney Lee also works closely with senior litigation experts, including Representative attorney Kim Gye-hwan, in a well-established system of consultation, collaboration, and division of work. In addition to specialized and complex cases, he brings skill and efficiency to the handling of both civil and criminal matters.

Fair Trade & Antitrust

In today’s corporate environment, issues under the 'Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act' invariably arise as key matters for companies of a certain scale. Because the decisions and practices of the Korea Fair Trade Commission often involve significant policy discretion, specialized and highly focused knowledge is essential.

Attorney Young-Wook Lee has successfully handled numerous large-scale cases while representing the Fair Trade Commission during his years at Kangho Law Firm.

He has also co-authored a long-running series titled “Cartoon Case Law on Fair Trade” in the “Law Times” with Attorney Jung Yang-hoon of Barun Law LLC, demonstrating his deep understanding of key issues and legal principles in competition law. At present, he continues to collaborate with Attorney Jung and other experts to address complex fair trade and antitrust matters.

Privacy Policy

Law Firm Gamwoo Gangnam-branch(hereinafter referred to as the “Firm”) establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy as follows in order to protect the personal information and rights of data subjects, and to smoothly handle any grievances related to personal information, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Article 1 (Items of Personal Information Processed, Purposes of Processing, and Retention Periods)
The items of personal information processed by the Firm, the purposes of processing, and the retention periods are as follows:

Client Personal Information

Items of Personal Information Name, contact information, address, company name, job title and position within the company
Purpose of Processing To perform tasks such as preparing necessary documents and maintaining communications in connection with cases entrusted by the client or related to the client
Retention Period Until the purposes of processing are achieved or until the client withdraws consent for the processing of personal information

Article 2 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Firm provides personal information to third parties only in cases falling under Article 17 and Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as when the data subject has given consent or where there are special provisions under applicable laws and regulations.

Article 3 (Destruction of Personal Information)
As a general rule, the Firm promptly destroys personal information when it becomes unnecessary, such as when the retention period specified in Article 1 has expired or the purposes of processing have been achieved. However, if preservation is required under other applicable laws and regulations, such information will not be destroyed.
Where the Firm is required to preserve personal information pursuant to relevant laws and regulations, such personal information or personal information files shall be stored and managed separately from other personal information.
The Firm selects the personal information subject to destruction, obtains approval from the Personal Information Protection Officer, and then destroys the relevant information.
If the personal information to be destroyed is in the form of electronic files, it shall be permanently deleted in an irreversible manner. For records, printed materials, written documents, or other recording media, destruction shall be carried out by shredding or incineration.

In accordance with Article 31(1) of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Firm designates the following Personal Information Protection Officer to safeguard personal information and to handle complaints related to personal information:
